Itinerary
Time to discover the Bohemian in you!
Our Bohemia tour of Prague starts, appropriately, at the statue of the Duke of Bohemia, martyr, and patron saint Wenceslas. Throughout the tour, you’ll learn about various influences on Prague, including architectural, art, and political influences.
We’ll begin your Prague tour by hearing how a chain-smoking Bohemian dissident championed the liberation from communist rule and lead the nation to freedom. Even with freedom, some things never change. We’ll find out what exactly in a favorite local passageway full of old world magic and subtle modern day resistance with provocative sculptures and graffiti.
Kicking off the sampling aspect of the tour, our first taste of Prague will be the best of the daily fresh specials offered in the passage of densely populated specialty food and pastry shops.
Next in Bohemian Prague, we'll pass by the oldest pub in Prague that has been serving the most famous Czech beer, Pilsner Urquell, since 1843. Then, we’ll see the former Communist Secret Police department, where dissidents such as Vaclav Havel were interrogated. Before crossing river (don’t worry, we won’t swim over the wild water) to the Kampa Island, the home of modern art area and Bohemian artists, we will check out legendary cafe where the green fairy inspired many great artists and writers .
After walking in the footsteps of always interesting, but never politically-correct modern Bohemian David Cerny, we will witness some truly beautiful metro art on our way to the funky Zizkov district. Here we’ll learn about the absurd writer Jaroslav Hasek, fierce general Jan Zižka, and will not be able to avert our gaze from the second ugliest building in the whole world.
By now, you should be ready for a beer from the Pivoteka microbrewery and another sampling of fresh offerings from the farmers market, bakery, or gourmet shop. After all, we are Bohemians, we can be spontaneous!
Well move on with this cultural tour of Prague by taking the metro towards the always beautiful Vinohrady where we will enjoy wonderful views as we walk through the park while chatting about daily life in Prague.
But the tour ain’t over yet! We leave the park behind us and enter the cool, but admittedly not the cleanest, part of Prague. Vršovice will give us a feel for modern Bohemia and we will choose one of the amazing cafes to taste local snacks, drinks and good company. We will gladly give you local expert tips for the rest of your stay before taking the tram back to the Old Town to live as the free-spirited Bohemian we discovered within us!

We can order a non-alcoholic beverage instead of absinthe or beer on your wish.
If you are under 18 you can join the tour under the condition that we will order non-alcoholic beverages for you during the absinthe and beer tasting.
Please note that smoking is NOT forbidden in the Czech beer halls.
