After entering the huge church, your licensed English-speaking tour guide will lead you downstairs to visit the hidden unexpected archaeological evidences of what there was before the building of the Duomo, i.e. parts of an older church, an octagonal baptistery and tombs. Then after coming up in the Cathedral, your guide will teach you about Milan's most renowned curiosities from the sundial trail to the ritual of the Holy Nail, to the story of the Apostle who was skinned alive and much more. After being inside the Duomo, you will reach the Terraces of the Cathedral by elevator, please note that there is no skip the line available for the elevator rides. You will then arrive to a breathtaking panoramic view over the city after just 50 steps and you will feel like you literally have Milan at your feet.
During this Small Group Tour you will have time to take memorable pictures of the spires, to the new shining skyscrapers, to the iconic medieval towers and have a closer look at the incredible sculptures populating the Duomo and representing mysterious animals, monsters and other peculiar subjects.

Hours of operation
Available Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday departing at 2:30pm. We kindly ask all guests to show up at the meeting point at least 10 minutes prior to tour departure.
No tour departures on: January 1 & 6; April 1; May 1; June 2; August 15; November 1; December 8, 25-26 & 31.

Meeting point: Outside the Book Store LIBRERIA SAN PAOLO located in Piazza del Duomo #18 (NOT at the Duomo entrance).

Participant restrictions
This tour is NOT wheelchair friendly.
This tour is NOT recommended for pregnant women.
It is extremely recommended to wear comfortable shoes.
Dress code: The Duomo has a very strict, but very simple dress code: shoulders, abdomen, or knees must be covered. Footwear of any kind (we recommend comfortable footwear), jeans are ok. It is also not possible to wear hats within the basilica. Please note that the Staff of the Duomo will have the right to decline accepting you due the dress code above without any obligation to refund you for your tickets.

Policies
Cancellation: 7 days prior 30% penalty, 3 days prior 100% penalty. No show 100% penalty.
This tour requires a minimum of 2 passengers in order to operate. Maximum 12 passengers per tour.
The tour goes on rain or shine. In case of heavy rain or snow, the Duomo institution might decide to close the terrace. In this case we will hope for clearing weather with the understanding that no refund or discount will be given if we won't be able to visit the terrace due the weather condition. In case of heavy rain will be given the option of an alternative date subject to our availability.
Please note that there is no skip the line available for the elevator rides.
Please do not carry large bags whilst on this tour.
