Fushimi Inari Shrine: This intriguing shrine was dedicated to the god of rice and sake by the Hata clan in the 8th century. The magical, seemingly unending path of over 5000 vibrant orange torii gates that wind through the hills behind the Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine makes it one of the most popular shrines in Japan. The walk around the grounds is a pleasant day hike. It also makes for a delightfully eerie stroll in the late afternoon and early evening, when the various graveyards and miniature shrines along the path take on a mysterious air.

Byodoin Temple: This temple is a National Treasure and a World Heritage Site and is on the 10 Yen coin. The breathtaking gardens and the Phoenix Hall makes it one of the most beautiful temples in Japan. The temple is also home to Amida, a golden Buddha unique to the entire world.

Tea ceremony: Experience an authentic Japanese Tea Ceremony. You will learn the principles and inner workings of the Japanese Tea Ceremony. As well as the deeply rooted the slow and graceful movements of the tea ceremony.

Itinerary
Start the morning by meeting your guide at the Nippon Travel Agency office within the Kyoto Station. Take the JR line from the Kyoto station to the Inari station. Visit the Fushimi Inari Shrine. The shrine is one of the oldest Shinto Shrines in Japan and is famous for its one thousand Torii Gates.
Next, take the JR line from Inari station to Uji station and walk around Uji. Established in the 11th century, the Byodoin Temple is recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage.
Next, enjoy the experience of a Japanese tea ceremony. Please be aware that you might be joined by other groups.
Finish the day by returning to the Kyoto station by JR and the tour disbands at the Kyoto station.

We suggest wearing comfortable clothing and shoes as this is a walking tour (about 3.5km or 2.18 miles).
