Lucha Libre arrived in Mexico in the nineteenth century and ever since it has evolved to adapt to the shapes, taste and imagery of the Mexicans, as can be seen in the variety of characters and personalities that create the different luchadores through their colorful masks, keeping hidden the identity of the fighter, but at the same time giving them an aura of mysticism and identity, power and distinction. Other fighters prefer different ways to distinguish themselves from others, such as bringing long hair or colorful sidekicks. Sometimes luchadores are challenged to duels "mask vs mask" or "hair vs mask". Perhaps unwillingly, Mexican wrestlers have developed a very particular expression of Mexican folklore.
