The Simatai section of the Great Wall is 140 kilometers from downtown Beijing, and you will arrive there around 10:00am. On the way to Simatai Great Wall, we will offer you a bottle of water and a piece of Chinese bread. This section of the Wall has around 1500 years’ of history behind it and was first built in the early Qi Dynasty (550-577).

When you arrive to the Wall, you will enjoy a hike for around 3 hours over the Wall until reaching the 10th watchtower of the East section, the most photogenic part of all. After reaching this location, it is not allowed to continue walking farther for safety reasons, so you can decide to hike down the Wall for around 20 minutes or take the optional 5 minutes cable car on your own cost.

After this wonderful hike of the Wall, you will enjoy a traditional Chinese cuisine lunch in a local restaurant at 1:30pm. Then you will be transferred back to Beijing city centre, where you can choose to drop off at Sanyuanqiao or at Dongzhimen subway stations around 6:00 pm depending on traffic condit.

Location
Our English-speaking guide will pick you up at your hotel lobby between 5:30am and 7:00am depending on other customer’s hotel pick-up. The exact time will be informed by your guide a day before the tour starts, normally after 6:00pm, by a phone call to your hotel. Hotel must be inside the second ring road. If your hotel is outside, the meeting pick-up point will be the McDonalds of Dongzhimen. Subway Station at exit C.
