Sailing out from the Old Harbor in Reykjavik this whale watching tour gives you the chance to observe whales, dolphins and variety of other marine wildlife in its natural environment.

The most common sightings include dolphins, humpback whales and on rare occasions, minke whale and killer whales. Local bird life is also diverse including Puffin, Arctic Tern, Gannet and many varieties of Gull. Expert guides inform you about whales, birds and nature of the area.

Specially built for whale watching the spacious vessel offers variety of platforms for watching the whales as well an indoor viewing area with large windows. To keep you warm and comfortable there are warm overalls on board, but there is also hot drinks and light refreshments in the on-board café.

After the tour you can explore the Whale Exhibition Centre to find out more about the mysteries of the ocean. It is situated in an old Capelin-fishing vessel “Fífill” which has been transformed into an exhibition and information center on whales and sea birds.

Hours of operation
Available daily departing at 1:00pm year round, 9:00am during February-November, 5:00pm during June-August. Hotel pickup will be approximately one hour before departure time.

Duration
Approximately 3 hours.

Participant restrictions
Children under the age of 6 years old is free of charge. The entrance to the Whale Exhibition Room is free of charge for whale watching passengers.
